Raspberry is a fruit, which is available in yellow, orange, golden, red, black and orange colors. Raspberry fruit has a soft texture, which dissolves in the mouth. About 100 grams of rasberry fruit contain a gram each of fat and protein.

Atherosclerosis, a condition associated with the hardening of the arterial lumen, is reduced in individuals with regular consumption of raspberries. This effect is attributed to the salicylic acid in them. Quercetin is yet another antioxidant, which is seen to occur in raspberries. These benefit the individual by reducing the trigger of histamines, which in turn decreases the risk of allergic reactions.

Rasberry health benefits also include relief from pain and swelling. They also have no adverse effect on the blood glucose level. The severity of oxygen related damage is reduced due to the antioxidant nutrients in raspberries, namely, ascorbic acid and manganese. Certain antioxidants in raspberry, also, exhibit antimicrobial activity. It opposes the growth of micro organisms, such as fungi and bacteria. Candida albicans, the fungal infection that causes vaginal infections is curbed by this wonder fruit. Raspberries are a good source of folic acid, magnesium, riboflavin, copper and potassium. They are also highly effective against the proliferation of metalloproteinase enzyme, which often results in the proliferation of cancer cells, when, found in high quantities.
